OML - Seminars

Since WS 2019/2020, we have been offering seminars and lectures, respectively, related to organic machine learning, lifelong learning, continuous learning, and incremental learning. Even after the project ended, the seminars continued.

Despite OML officially having finished by the end of May 2023, the topics are highly relevant and the work done within the project is topic of further research. So the OML lecture will go on!  In the lectures we focus on the OML papers on language domain, text domain and image domain. There are about 10 lectures and presentations each semester with different topics including:

Data Augmentation:

  • Learn to synthesize from a few amount of data

  • Manipulate images for adding / modifying / removing objects by text input

Face Translation

  • End-to-end face translation

  • Transcription of an arbitrary video, translation of it, generating new audio with the TTS system, and adapting the generated audio to the original speaker. In the final step, synthesize the new video with the generated and adapted audio to have synchronize lips.

Pointing Gesture Recognition

  • Detect hands and recognize the pointing moment

  • Generate hand pose to decide on pointing line

  • Use overlapping objects with the pointing line
